- Description:
- Bit brace. Wood and iron. Medium-tan hardwood. Slender, extended C-shaped body. Rounded handle section that transitions into almost square cross sections at top and bottom. Edges chamfered and worn. Flattened cylindrical knob at top with slightly long undercut taper to flat-bottomed surface. Spindle with straight knob end that passes from bottom up through handle section and through knob. Wooden wedge driven into spindle at very top to keep it tight within knob. Iron nail driven into side of handle on one side near top that to hold the slightly-split pieces together. Tapered square hole at bottom handle with bottom opening 0.7" square; 0.55" square at top. Red painted "FP194" inside handle near bottom.
